Abu Dhabi: Mubadala Aerospace has signed a Dh4.9 million agreement with UAE University to train the next generation of Emirati technicians to work at Strata’s aircraft composite production facility, the company said in a statement.
The new initiative, with key modules delivered by professional trainers from Lockheed Martin, builds on the success of existing programmes, which have already resulted in the employment of over 95 Emirati staff at Strata over the past two years.
Shaikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Chancellor of the UAE University, said: “As part of the UAE’s commitment to growth and diversification, the UAE University is putting in place strong partnerships with local and international companies and institutions, to ensure that we best prepare our students to contribute to the nation’s ongoing success.”

As per the agreement, the programme will introduce an additional 90-100 Emirati employees to Strata by 2015 and upon completion of the programme, Strata will offer all successful trainees full time employment.
