Dubai: Drake and Scull’s engineering subsidiary, Drake and Scull Engineering (DSE) Kuwait, has been awarded a Dh218 million contract for mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) work for an education institution, according to a statement on Monday.
Under the agreement, DSE will undertake construction, operation and maintenance of electrical works including power, light, A.V System, fire alarm system and all low voltage works. It will also undertake the supply, installing, testing and commissioning and maintenance of all electrical works.
The education institution in Kuwait is set to be completed in 2018.
“With a growth in non-oil segments and expansion of the consumer sector, the Kuwait real estate sector is currently enjoying a growth upswing and DSE is confident of capitalising on this forward momentum by securing more large-scale projects in Kuwait in the near term,” said Ahmad Al Nasser, managing director of DSE, in a statement.
The contract brings Drake and Scull’s project awards year to date to Dh1.57 billion in value.
The company’s ongoing projects include the College of Business, College of Arts, the College of Health and Sciences for Girls, and Sheikh Saad Sports Complex, among others.
