Dubai: Malls across Dubai have put together a wide array of shopping deals, entertainment, events and promotions to lure shoppers as they compete for patronage.
But malls are not the only venues that are preparing to stun residents of the emirate with glitz, glamour and savings.
A wide range of performances and attractions are being lined up for the week as part of the 16th edition of the festival, including dance troupes and live performances by clowns, musicians, jugglers and other performers, in malls and public parks.
Special events such as the Carpet Oasis at Airport Expo Dubai, events at main streets in Al Seef, Riqqa, Diyafah roads are also planned, as well as the popular night souq which is located on Riqqa street.
Also, daily dolphin shows, mega raffle promotions, and a desert camp are part of the exciting attractions on the cards during this DSF. There are many different promotions throughout the event. The Lexus Mega Raffle is being sponsored by the festival organisers. The winner gets Dh100,000 in cash and one Lexus LX570 each day for the 32 days of the DSF.
They will also take entries to win a Lexus LS600hl to be given away at the close of the DSF.
The raffle tickets are Dh200.
The Nissan Mega Raffle is giving away a free Nissan SUV for each of the 32 days of the festival. Entries can be obtained by purchasing from Enoc and Eppco and other participating vendors.
Nissan is giving away various SUV models. Participants can win a Patrol, Murano, Pathfinder and more. To sweeten the pot a little more, all coupons will get the chance to win one of each model. That is seven different cars.
The Dubai Gold and Jewellery Group is offering shoppers that change to win gold or cash.
Of course, no festival is complete without entertainment, and where there is entertainment there is Disney. Disney fans will not be disappointed.
The 2011 Dubai festival will feature an exclusive production that is making its world premiere.
A variety of artists will be taking the stage too. Musicians scheduled to appear include Amy Winehouse, K.K. and Sunidhi Chauhan, and Pharell Williams and the NERD. One of the highlights will be the Sound and Light show in the Wafi.
The 2011 Dubai Shopping Festivals is on track to be one of the best yet.
