Tameer in $500m Jordan development
Dubai: Tameer Holding, the region's leading real estate developer, yesterday unveiled Madinat Al Majd, being developed in Jordan by Tameer International.
Property units in the $500 million project were offered for public sale in at Cityscape.
The launching ceremony was held at Tameer Holding's pavilion, and attended by Omar Ayesh, president of the firm, who announced the official launch of the project, with the presence of real estate professionals, pressmen and interested audience. Also present were official representatives of Tameer Holding and Tameer International.
Extra attention
"Madinat Al Majd is not the only project to be unveiled by Tameer during Cityscape; however, it is the only development outside the UAE to be launched by Tameer during the event. Such a project requires extra attention as it is our initial development in the Jordan, and it is expected to boost the housing market in the country, upon completion," Omar Ayesh said.
With its 18,500 residential units over an area of two million square metres, Madinat Al Majd is to be developed to provide a wide segment of the community with homes in a healthy environment that contains schools, hospitals, medical and community centres, play grounds, commercial units, offices, retail shops and shopping centres.
Main highway
In addition to its capacity to accommodate more than 50,000 people, Madinat Al Majd is located on the main highway leading to Zarqa, some five kilometres from that city and 25 kilometres from Amman.
The project is also close to all public services and governmental centers and both the Hashemite and Zarqa Private universities.
Madinat Al Majd embodies the vision of King Abdullah to give every Jordanian family the opportunity to acquire adequate housing unit.
Families will be able to own a house with natural lighting and a ventilation system in a city that enjoys ideal typography for the same monthly payment that they used to pay for rent.
