Abu Dhabi: Having already inaugurated Cityscape Abu Dhabi on May 13, General Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Sup-reme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, on Friday underscored the importance of the event as a showcase for the capital's intricate planning, sustainable projects and investment transparency, by paying a special return visit to the show.

IIR Middle East, the organiser of Cityscape Abu Dhabi, had extended the showcase by one day after an official request by the Abu Dhabi Government.

Shaikh Mohammad toured the show once again, this time stopping off to view projects by major developers Sama Dubai, Tamouh and Manazel.

The Abu Dhabi Government was represented by the Department of Municipal Affairs and the Urban Planning Council, who both presented Shaikh Mohammad with a brief overview and prog-ress report.

Mark Goodchild, Project Manager, Cityscape Abu Dhabi said, "This year Shaikh Mohammad generously offered his patronage for a second successive year and has taken a keen interest in the development of the show.

"Shaikh Mohammad praised the visionary projects on view and expressed his confidence in the future landscape of the UAE capital."

The show which was sold out some months ago, featured over 300 confirmed exhibitors covering more than 30,000 square metres of exhibition space.

The event attracted over 30,000 visitors, almost double the numbers recorded last year, according to initial estimates provided by Cityscape officials.

In addition to solid government support, locally-based real estate heavyweights such as Mubadala, Sorouh Real Estate, Aldar Properties and Al Qudra Real Estate had a significant presence, underlining their commitment to the sustainable development of Abu Dhabi.
