Aldar to build labour quarters
Aldar Properties PJSC, Abu Dhabi's leading developer, has announced an agreement with the Higher Corporation of Specialised Economic Zones in Abu Dhabi to build a 16,000 capacity workers residential city in Al Ain, a statement said.

Dubai: Aldar Properties PJSC, Abu Dhabi's leading developer, has announced an agreement with the Higher Corporation of Specialised Economic Zones in Abu Dhabi to build a 16,000 capacity workers residential city in Al Ain, a statement said.
The estimated cost of the development is Dh500 million, and this will fulfill the vision of Aldar to build high quality, fully integrated residential cities for workers in the UAE. Aldar will start work immediately on the development, which will be completed in phases up to 2009.
The agreement which was reached at the inauguration of Cityscape Abu Dhabi, will see Aldar develop a total of eight clusters for residential development.
Six of the clusters will include seven residential blocks with a main dining hall and open green spaces. The remaining two clusters will have a central kitchen, shopping mall, medical clinic, an administration building and a mosque.
Mission
ZonesCorp's mission is for specialised economic zones to provide all stakeholders with the best services that will add value to their work and to promote and develop the economic investment in Abu Dhabi.
The agreement is a culmination of the government, ZonesCorp and Aldar's commitment to providing the best quality of life for the many workers that reside across the UAE.
"The agreement signals a commitment to the workers of Al Ain and the UAE. It is important that they are housed properly and their accommodations are maintained carefully as they are a very important aspect in the development of our country.
"Aldar will ensure that the standard of the residential cities are on par with the organisation's other high quality projects. The residential city will address the issue of rapid growth and development," said Ahmad Ali Al Sayegh, chairman, Aldar.
"The workers' residential city in Al Ain will provide much-needed quality accommodation for the town's workers.
"The major agreement with Aldar, will implement and ensure global standards and international specifications throughout the project and we are in consultation with major industry leaders to ensure the best possible quality. We intend to ensure that we build a secure and stable community," said Jaber Hareb Al Khaili, Acting CEO, ZonesCorp.
