Dubai: Kuwaiti developer Al Osaimi Investments and Real Estate launched on Sunday its Dh1.5 billion flagship project on the crescent of Palm Jumeirah in Dubai.

The Dusit Emirates Saray comprises three projects spanning a total of one million square feet along 11.5 kilometres of the crescent.

The three projects include the Dusit Devarana - a seven-star Indian-themed hotel with 116 rooms spanning 26,000 square feet, the Dusit Thani - a five-star Moroccan-themed resort with 292 rooms spread across 34,000 square feet and The Residence - 178 freehold units including apartments and villas spanning 57,000 square feet. There will also a basement area covering an additional 51,000 square feet. The project is due for completion in the first quarter of 2010.

Nasser Abdul Rahman Osaimi, vice-chairman of Al Osaimi Investments and Real Estate, said: "The launch of 'Dusit Emirates Saray-Palm Jumeirah Hotel Resorts and Residences' marks the dawn of a new age in luxurious property developments, as we set a new level of standard in terms of luxury, uniqueness and quality, which future projects will try to equal."

Spanning one million square feet, the project will be highlighted by The Residence, a 178-unit Arabian-themed development.

Encompassing two-storey townhouses, three-bedroom apartments and three-bedroom penthouses, each unit will boast a spacious terrace, pool, garden and parking so as to offer maximum exclusivity for residential investors. It will also include a water sports facility and four freestanding restaurants.

Saleh Ahmad, general manager of Oriental Constructions, said: "The construction of a project with the magnitude of the Dusit Emirates Saray-Palm Jumeirah Hotel Resorts and Residence development is truly an incredible task - one that requires a tremendous amount of precision and meticulous attention to every aspect of the construction phase."

The sale, which began yesterday evening, will move to Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and other GCC countries after three days.

Dusit Thani is a five-star Moroccan-themed family resort, which will feature 292 guest rooms and suites, restaurants and a business centre. The development will have three pools located around the Palm Lagoon, which will comprise 10 free standing chalets and business centres.
