Dubai: Al Hanoo Holding yesterday revealed part of its plans for the Dh1 billion Warehouses City project in Sharjah.
Abdullah Bin Fahid Al Shakrah, chairman of Al Hanoo, said: "The company has finished six prototype warehouses, fully outfitted according to the highest international standards, with features ranging from typical ventilation systems to proper thermal insulation."
Each of the 400 warehouses will also have a comprehensive communications network, power-saving electricity grid and water and gas facilities.
Each of the warehouses will have 10 square metres of space in addition to the area paid for by investors.
The number of residential and commercial units available within the development has not yet been confirmed, an Al Hanoo spokesperson said.
Warehouses City covers about 20 million square feet out of the total 83 million square feet of Emirates Industrial City.
The Warehouses City project is divided into eight sections, two of which have been specifically allocated for warehouse and logistic support.
The project includes 400 warehouses that can further be divided into 4,000 warehouses.
The remaining six sections include industrial investment areas that cater to investors' industrial needs, commercial areas, company offices, sale exhibition area for factories, multi-purpose business centres and housing.
There will also be healthcare facilities and shopping areas for residents.
