Metito wins $21m Adma Opco contract

Dubai: Abu Dhabi Marine Operating Company (Adma Opco) has awarded an engineering, procurement and construction contract on Das Island worth $21 million to Metito.
Das Island is the centre of the UAE's offshore oil industry, lying in the heart of the Arabian Gulf, approximately 140 km north-west of Abu Dhabi.
The island serves as the export terminal for Adma Opco's oil from their offshore fields and for liquefied natural gas produced by the Abu Dhabi Gas Liquefaction Company, both of which are part of the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company, Adnoc.
Being an oil hub, companies operating on Das Island face many challenges in adhering to the strict health and safety standards set by Adma Opco.
Impeccable record
However, Metito have had an impeccable safety record in its 50 years of operation and runs vigorous HSE standards that have been fully audited and approved by the oil company to operate on the island.
The project will require the carrying out of detailed design, engineering, procurement, installation, construction, pre-commissioning and commissioning services for Das Island using reverse osmosis technology and a demineralisation unit to provide boiler feed water.
The new water treatment plant will replace the existing facilities that have been in operation for the last 25 years.
"This project highlights the continued commitment of Metito in carrying out major EPC contracts with high profile clients and supplying water wherever it is needed," said Omar Al Zoubi, general manager of Metito Abu Dhabi.
