Dubai: Abu Dhabi Oil Refining Co (Takreer) has awarded Dodsal Pte Ltd a Dh1 billion engineering procurement and construction (EPC) contract to execute the Ruwais Sulphur Handling Expansion (Phase-III) project.

The project is scheduled to be completed by the fourth quarter of 2009.

"The objective of the project is to increase the storage and processing capacity in order to handle the additional liquid sulphur that will be received from various Adnoc Group companies," Takreer said.

The project scope includes increase in the sulphur storage capacity, granulation capacity, associated material management and marine structures for berthing, mooring and ship loading.

The project will involve state-of-the-art instrumentation and control and telecom and supervisory control system, which will be in line with the best available technology in the world today.

Jasem Ali Al Sayegh, general manager of Takreer, and Rajen A. Kilachand, Chairman and President of Dodsal Group, signed the contract.

Dodsal undertakes development, engineering and construction works around the world on EPC basis as well as large-scale construction projects within the energy and infrastructure sectors.

This contract takes Dodsal's order book to nearly Dh10 billion, with an additional Dh8 billion of orders expected soon.
