Abdullah arrives in Riyadh for Opec summit

Riyadh: Foreign Minister Shaikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan arrived in Riyadh on Friday to lead the UAE's delegation to the meeting of foreign ministers of the Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries.

He was received at King Khalid International Airport by a number of officials at the Saudi Foreign Ministry and by UAE Ambassador to Riyadh Al Asri Saeed Al Dhaheri.

Shaikh Abdullah is being accompanied by Minister of Economy Shaikha Lubna Al Qasimi and a number of other senior government officials.

Meanwhile in Abu Dhabi, The Centre for Information Affairs, affiliated to Shaikh Sultan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Deputy Prime Minister's office, has published a book entitled The United Arab Emirates and Opec.

It is being published to mark the participation of President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan in the third Opec summit, to be held in the Saudi Arabian capital today and tomorrow.

Review

The book reviews the oil strategy adopted by Shaikh Khalifa and its all-encompassing positive influences on the UAE's sustained development as well as the benefits which oil wealth has brought at the domestic and international levels.

The book also examines the role of the UAE as a member of the producer group in formulating the principles of working joint ly to achieve market stability and to provide the necessary support and assistance for the continuation of global economic growth and to protect the interests of both producers and consumers.
