Karachi : Pakistan's key Karachi Stock Exchange 100 Index rose 30.56, or 0.3 per cent, to 9,584.37 at the 2pm local time close.
Lotte Pakistan PTA, the nation's only producer of pure terephthalic acid, rose after second-quarter profit almost doubled.
Net income in the three months ended June 30 rose to Rs1.25 billion (Dh53.62 million) from Rs637.4 million a year ago. Lotte Pakistan rose 9.8 per cent, the most in more than two months, to Rs8.26.
Cash dividend
ICI Pakistan, a chemical producer, rose by the daily limit, after it announced plans to pay a mid-year cash dividend. ICI Pakistan rose 5 per cent to Rs119.79.
The company said it plans to pay Rs5.50 a share as interim cash dividend, according to a filing to the Karachi Stock Exchange yesterday.
