Dubai: His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice- President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on Sunday received members of the Global Agenda Councils on social entrepreneurship, world finance, future of the internet and future of the Middle East.
The meetings took place on the sideline of the inaugural Summit on the Global Agenda, organised by the World Economic Forum in partnership with the Government of Dubai, which was opened by Shaikh Mohammad on Friday and ended on Sunday.
Members of the Global Agenda Councils briefed Shaikh Mohammad on their assessments of the state of the world in their focus areas and initial outlines of solutions and approaches for the challenges ahead.
The Councils brought together leading experts to tackle some of the key issues facing the world, from financial insecurity to global warming and from the future of the internet to water security.
Shaikh Mohammad's keynote address before the summit was the focus of discussions during the four meetings. They said Shaikh Mohammad had skilfully analysed and diagnosed the ills of the international financial crisis.
They termed his address as "realistic" and "frank" and underlined a high sense of responsibility towards his country's economy and global economy.
