Ras Al Khaimah: Ras Al Khaimah will soon have a chain of state-of-the-art duty-free outlets as part of efforts to boost the emirate's fast growing tourism and aviation sectors.

RAK Duty Free (RDF) is all set to open outlets at select hotels in RAK and also on board RAK Airways flights.

"The RAK Duty Free shops will offer the tourists arriving in RAK an exciting new duty-free shopping experience, by providing them an unparalleled collection of duty-free items and highest international retailing standards," Archana, manager of RAK Duty Free, said.

RAK Duty Free will in the first phase open stores at RAK's top hotels - the Al Hamra Fort Hotel and Al Hamra Village, Khatt Springs Hotel & SPA and Al Hamra Golf Club and Resorts - by next month and aboard three aircraft of RAK Airways soon.

Exclusive service

The duty-free products would be offered exclusively to the RAK hotel guests and flight passengers. The flagship shop of the company will be at the Dh400 million seven-star Al Hamra Palace Hotel which is scheduled to open in mid-2008. The outlet will showcase a full selection of RAK Duty Free products.

RAK Duty Free is taking innovation in the travel retail industry to new heights with its unique online pre-ordering service, by which RAK hotel guests can access RDF services through the website 'www.dutyfreerak.com' even before starting the trip to RAK and have the products charged to their hotel bills and delivered at the rooms upon their check-in at the hotel.
