Abu Dhabi's non-oil exports reach Dh3.7b
Non-oil exports from the Abu Dhabi have reached Dh3.7 billion, Abu Dhabi Department of Finance (DoF) said in a statement.
Dubai: Non-oil exports from the Abu Dhabi have reached Dh3.7 billion, Abu Dhabi Department of Finance (DoF) said in a statement.
While Abu Dhabi' s re-exports touched Dh2.4 billion highlighting the growing role of Abu Dhabi as a vital trading hub as per a report published by the Customs Directorate at the DoF.
The report includes import, export and re-export data on Abu Dhabi' s top ten trading partners.
Qatar (Dh873.7 million), China (Dh518.4 million) and Saudi Arabia (Dh500 million), rank as the top three destinations for Abu Dhabi' s non-oil exports. India was the leading re-export destination from Abu Dhabi with re-export volumes to India reaching Dh559.6 million, followed by re-exports to Oman (Dh411.3 million) and Qatar (Dh380.2 million).
"As an organisation, we are fully prepared to play a key role in increasing the Emirate' s revenues by energising bi-lateral trade with our partners," said Saeed Ahmad Al Muhairi, Vice Director of the Abu Dhabi Customs Administration.
"We are pleased at the trade growth which reflects the status of Abu Dhabi as an increasingly important and vital commercial hub in the region. The Abu Dhabi Customs Administration is committed to implementing the guidelines, in our bid to play a key role in the economic growth of the UAE," he added.
In 2007, Abu Dhabi' s imports reached Dh18.9 billion with Japanese imports into Abu Dhabi accounting for Dh4.4 billion. Saudi Arabia was the second biggest partner for Abu Dhabi with Dh3.3 billion of imports. Germany was in third place with Dh2.6 billion.
