Abu Dhabi bourse to extend trading by 40 minutes on Monday
The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) said on Monday trading on the bourse will be extended by 40 minutes on Monday after a connection problem between the trading system and some of the brokers caused a delay to the start of trading.
Abu Dhabi: The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) said on Monday trading on the bourse will be extended by 40 minutes on Monday after a connection problem between the trading system and some of the brokers caused a delay to the start of trading.
"Trading session began at 10:40am on Monday, 40 minutes behind schedule. We will make up for the lost time by extending the trading session by 40 minutes on Monday afternoon," a spokeswoman for ADX told Gulf News. She said 96 brokerage firms are currently registered with ADX.
"The problem meant 35 brokers were unable to access the system. ADX therefore had to suspend market activity to ensure fair trading conditions," ADX said in a statement.
There are 65 companies listed on the ADX. As of the end of 2008, the combined market capitalization of ADX-listed companies stood close to Dh253 billion.
