Big convention centre for Al Ain
Shaikh Tahnoun Bin Mohammad Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Ruler's Representative in the Eastern Region, yesterday unveiled a Dh3.5 billion convention centre in Al Ain, that will boost the city's exhibition and convention business.

Dubai: Shaikh Tahnoun Bin Mohammad Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Ruler's Representative in the Eastern Region, yesterday unveiled a Dh3.5 billion convention centre in Al Ain, that will boost the city's exhibition and convention business.
"The Al Ain Convention Centre will enhance the tourism, cultural and economic status of Al Ain internationally," he said.
The Al Ain Convention Centre, which will be located in Al Khubaisi, has a gross area of 275,000 square metres, of which 230,000 square metres are assigned for investors.
The centre will include a hotel and a modern conference centre at a cost of Dh387 million.
It will also include a cultural centre and library in addition to 21 residential buildings, serviced apartments and commercial offices.
The establishment of the Al Ain Convention Centre will add another dimension to the tourism potential of Al Ain. "It will pave the way for organisations and businesses to hold their conferences and exhibitions in Al Ain," he said.
Shaikh Tahnoun was briefed by Shaikh Sultan Bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Member of the Executive Council, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority and Chairman of Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company (Adnec), in the presence of Shaikh Hazza Bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Shaikh Diab Bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Falah Mohammad Al Ahbabi and a number of senior officials.
