Dubai: Sultan Bin Saeed Al Mansouri, UAE Minister of Economy, has announced plans to implement a pilot project in collaboration with the Gulf Organisation for Industrial Consultations (GOIC), aimed at cutting the costs of dairy products and fruit juices.

An expert panel to work with GOIC will conduct field visits to several dairy and juices factories to assess their operations and identify ways to reduce cost of production without compromising on quality.

Al Mansouri stressed the GOIC's role in the development of the UAE's industrial sector and lauded its contributions to complement the ministry's counter-inflation measures.

"The MoE works to develop the industrial sector in the UAE by bringing in best local and international expertise. To this end, we are working with GOIC on a pilot project to assess ways of cutting the cost of production of dairy products and juices. We hope to expand the scope of this project to include all factories in the UAE. The purpose of the project is to boost the price control efforts without affecting the quality of products," Al Mansouri said.

Dr. Ahmad Khalil Al Mutawa, secretary general of GOIC, said: "Through the pilot project, which is part of the Industrial Consultations Programme, we will conduct field visits to UAE dairy and juice factories to assess operations and provide cost reduction solutions while enhancing their competitive advantage."

Dr Ahmad Al Tijani, chairman of the UAE Dairy and Juices Association, hailed the initiative launched by the MoE to promote the industrial sector in the UAE.

He offered the association's complete support to these efforts aimed at enhancing production and cutting costs.

Jamal Nasser Lootah, executive director of the MoE's industrial sector, said that GOIC is an expert body that assists the development of the UAE.

The ministry's collaboration aims at achieving optimal production standards through efficient practices.

The GOIC was established in 1976 as a knowledge-hub and industrial investment promotion catalyst, for industrial diversification and development within the GCC countries.
