Dubai: Palm Utilities, a wholly owned subsidiary of Istithmar World PJSC, a major investment holding company incorporated in the Dubai World Group, has recently commissioned two new projects as the company continues to expand its operations and deliver its world-class utility solutions to prime development projects in the region.
Palm Utilities will provide complete turnkey operations to the 2nd phase of Discovery Gardens and the Palm Jumeirah Trunk developments, with both facilities expected to be operational by the end of August 2008.
The Discovery Gardens project, being undertaken by Palm District Cooling (PDC), will supply 104,000 tonnes of refrigeration (TR) through three District Cooling Plants, while the Palm Jumeirah Trunk project, being worked on by PDC and Palm Water, will deliver up to 105,000 TR through four District Cooling Plants.
Palm Utilities further announced that by August two other projects currently undergoing construction will also commence operation: the first two phases of the 120,000 TR serving Atlantis on Palm Jumeirah Crescent, and the first phase of the 105,000 TR for Jumeirah Lake Towers.
