Mohammad holds talks with Algerian president
General Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, on Tuesday held talks with Algerian President Abdul Aziz Bouteflika on bilateral ties and ways to enhance avenues of joint economic cooperation.

Algiers: General Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, on Tuesday held talks with Algerian President Abdul Aziz Bouteflika on bilateral ties and ways to enhance avenues of joint economic cooperation.
Shaikh Mohammad, heading a high-level business investment delegation, arrived in Algiers yesterday on a one-day visit. He conveyed greetings from President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan to the Algerian leader.
The delegation included Shaikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister, and representatives from Abu Dhabi's public and private sectors.
Shaikh Mohammad stressed upon the deep-rooted brotherly relations between the UAE and Algeria, referring to the strong will of the leadership of both countries to promote the relations to higher levels.
He stressed on the importance of the economic and investment dimension for joint cooperation among Arab countries as the first step towards achieving economic integration and rapprochement to enable them to face current and future challenges.
Shaikh Mohammad and the Algerian president discussed steps and mechanisms to build on the distinguished relations between the nations and take them further ahead in the best interest of the two nations.
Abdul Aziz expressed his satisfaction with the progress of bilateral relations, which he said gained his special attention, and praised the UAE's rich experiment with development, drawing respect from countries all over the world.
The Algerian leader reviewed with Shaikh Mohammad, the reform plan and the economic programme undertaken by the government to attract investments to Algiers and achieve more progress and growth in various sectors of the Algerian economy.
On the sidelines of Shaikh Mohammad's visit, the economic delegation, accompanying Shaikh Mohammad, held several meetings with Algerian officials for launching joint venture projects.
