Abu Dhabi: The three-day Gulf Incentive, Business Travel and Meetings (GIBTM) Exhibition that Abu Dhabi conducted for the second successive year from April 8 to 10 experienced a sharp increase in business visitors this year.
The Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (ADTA) featured 20 co-exhibitors and four sharing companies. The stand also featured a Cultural Zone in addition to other facilities for the participants and visitors.
Local architecture and culture were taken into consideration in designing the stand. There were 20 booths and four exclusive corporate corners at the stand.
"The event represented a broad spectrum of the emirate's burgeoning tourism industry in general and business tourism players in particular. This includes hotels and resorts, tour operators, golf clubs and the operator of airports in the emirate.
"Every effort was made to make the ADTA stand the cynosure of all eyes at the GIBTM-2008," said Ali Al Hosani, ADTA's promotions director.
The ADTA said it utilised the GIBTM to tap the immense growth opportunities that the high-yielding business tourism sector offers as the UAE's largest emirate moves forward with its ambitious tourism development agenda.
