Global Village extends opening in response to high demand

Last updated:

Dubai: Global Village has announced it will open to the public from November 12 to February 21 during its new season.

The premises will open its doors for an extra 21 days in response to high demand from visitors.

Registration for space rentals in kiosks, restaurants and pavilions has opened, in response to an increased requirement for premium space.

In the 2007-08 season, Global Village registered a footfall of nearly 4.5 million through the participation of 30 pavilions, 120 kiosks and service areas, and 32 restaurants.

Global Village has been voted first runner-up for The Best Visitor's Attraction in Dubai at The Best in Dubai Awards 2008.

Do you think the allotted time will increase the number of tourists visiting Dubai? Is the time sufficient or should the dateline be further extended? Will this move help span out traffic, as people would have more time to shop? Tell us at letter2editor@gulfnews.com or fill in the form bellow to send your comments.

Extending the dates for opening global village will make its value lose ..instead it should be opened during DSF and also for few days before or after DSF..

The last Global Village I had visited was the most boring of all. There was no cultural sense whatsoever. Hopefully this year they may bring a lot of cultural shows within each pavilion to bring the countries in highlight and what they are all about. What we need is also local food restaurants of all participating countries rather than having the usual burgers and fastfood chains.

The extension of Global Village scheduled time may increase tourism to some extent. However, the possibility of spanning out of traffic may not really hold good as clearance sales and discounts will prevail only during the last week of the event!
