DWTC working with authorities to manage Gitex traffic more effectively

The Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) is working closely with the Roads and Transport Auth-ority and the Dubai Police to manage the traffic more effectively and alleviate congestion at this year's Gitex Technology Week, which opens at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition today and will run till October 23.

Dubai: The Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) is working closely with the Roads and Transport Auth-ority and the Dubai Police to manage the traffic more effectively and alleviate congestion at this year's Gitex Technology Week, which opens at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition today and will run till October 23.

Among the measures that are being taken for traffic management are road div-ersions for controlling and streamlining peak hour vehicle flow.

Dedicated personnel and signages will also be in place to direct visitors, exhibitors and delegates to allocated parking lots at the convention centre.

Visitor parking will be available in Parking area A and B as well as the multi-storey car park (as indicated in the map).

In addition, arrangements have been made for a convenient 'Park and Ride' service from Za'abeel Park. Regular shuttle bus services for Gitex will also be available to and from major hotels, city centre points and shopping malls.

For the Gitex Shopper, the free shuttle service between the car park and the airport expo starts from 9am to midnight. The service started yesterday and will run till October 22. On the 23rd the service will run from 3pm to midnight.

In addition, there will be shuttle buses operating to and from major city points.
