Dubai Outsource Zone boosts energy efficiency with solar-powered lighting solution

Dubai: Dubai Outsource Zone (DOZ) has implemented a solar photovoltaic (SPV) technology for its car park, making the premises carbon neutral with zero energy cost.
Dubai Outsource Zone opted for the GRENlite technology to resolve the phenomenal challenge of lighting, as extending conventional electrical cables to the car park area would have led to a significant jump in installation costs.
The SPV systems are standalone and powered by an SPV panel with pole-mounted battery providing energy storage for night usage.
The solar-powered lights are self-contained, requiring no trenching, cabling or power connections, and made operational at very short notice.
A total of 15 units have been installed at the DOZ car park, providing a similar degree of illumination as conventional lighting.
Ismail Al Naqi, Executive Director of DOZ, said the solar power solution for the car park is only the first step in a series of green-friendly measures to be undertaken by DOZ.
