DQG honours 12 winners of energy awards
Dubai Quality Group (DQG), a non-profit organisation, has announced that 12 individuals and organisations were recognised on Wednesday during the first Emirates Energy Award (EEA) ceremony at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Dubai.

Dubai: Dubai Quality Group (DQG), a non-profit organisation, has announced that 12 individuals and organisations were recognised on Wednesday during the first Emirates Energy Award (EEA) ceremony at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Dubai.
The winners of the EEA's five categories were Avireal Middle East (Education and Research Award with Dubal as runner-up); Dewa (Major Energy Project Award with Dubai World as runner-up); Dr Luai Mohammad Al Hadhrami of King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, Sougata Nandi of Tecom Investments, Sami Awad Ebrahim of Dubai Properties, and Amal Koshak of Dewa (Energy Engineer Award); Dubal (Private Corporation Energy Award with Union Properties as runner-up); and King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (Minor Energy Project Award with Adma Opco as runner-up).
The winners received their awards from Abdul Rahman Mohammad Al Owais, the UAE Minister of Culture, Youth and Community Development, on behalf of Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council.
Big success
"The Emirates Energy Award has been a great success and a source of inspiration for others to contribute to the energy conservation movement," said Marwan Al Sawaleh, chairman of Dubai Quality Group.
"On behalf of Dubai Quality Group, I commend all the winners and the different organisations and individuals who participated and selflessly shared their knowledge and expertise and represent an added value to the government's efforts in the field of energy management.
"We hope that by honouring effective energy practices, we will be able to motivate more individuals and institutions to adopt similar energy-conservation systems," he added.
Launched by DQG under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, the EEA's categories are Private Corporation Energy Award, Energy Engineer Award, Major Energy Project Award, Minor Energy Project Award, and Education and Research Award.
