Decree issued for UAE nuclear energy body
His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, has issued a decree establishing a nuclear energy committee for the emirate, to be headed by Saeed Mohammad Al Tayer.
Dubai: His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, has issued a decree establishing a nuclear energy committee for the emirate, to be headed by Saeed Mohammad Al Tayer.
The committee, which will be part of the Higher Council for Energy, will be responsible for supervising the peaceful use of nuclear energy to generate electricity and water desalination.
It will also prepare strategic plans to be submitted to the council for approval and follow up its implementation.
The newly established entity will represent the Government of Dubai in all joint projects in the field of peaceful use of nuclear energy locally and internationally.
