First section of Metro ready by 2015
Abu Dhabi is aiming to have the first segment of its Metro rail line operational by October 2015, a senior official of the Abu Dhabi Department of Transport said here on Monday.

Abu Dhabi: Abu Dhabi is aiming to have the first segment of its Metro rail line operational by October 2015, a senior official of the Abu Dhabi Department of Transport said here on Monday.
At a Meed conference, Dr Abdul Gader Al Shabani, Senior Transportation Planning Specialist told delegates the feasibility study to build a Metro in Abu Dhabi would begin in November and last 21 months.
"Stage two will involve a preliminary design and detailed implementation schedule. In stage three, there will be the final contract documentation and tender award."
