They have all visited Kanz Jewels' showroom in Dubai where a 64 kilogram gold ring Najmat Taiba — the world's largest — valued at Dh11 million is attracting visitors at a gold shop in Dubai. The ring is displayed by Kanz Jewels with a "Guinness World Records" certificate, as part of the company's participation at the Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF).
Najmat Taiba, manufactured by Taiba, Saudi Arabia, is studded with 5.1 kilograms of Swarovski stones from Signity Middle East and was supported by the World Gold Council. Fifty-five workers worked 45 days for 10 hours a day to make this piece.
Dubai is one of the largest hubs of gold sales in the world. Unwrought, worked and semi-manufactured gold topped the list of Dubai's imports with Dh58.9 billion from January to September last year, according to Dubai Customs.
"We have displayed the world's biggest gold ring and I can say that it is also one of the most photographed gold rings in the world. When crafted this unique piece in the year 2000, the gold price was only $250 (Dh917.50) per ounce. "This ring has inspired many gold enthusiasts to buy replicas of the ring from our stores," said Anil Dhanak (shown left), Managing Director of Kanz Jewels.
