Delegation discusses investment opportunities in Kuala Lumpur
Kuala Lumpur: The UAE delegation participating in the International Trade Malaysia 2009 (INTRADE Malaysia) exhibition reviewed with its Malaysian counterpart possibilities of developing relations between the two countries in various fields, especially trade.
The delegation, led by Shaikha Lubna Al Qasimi, UAE Minister of Foreign Trade, includes 77 officials representing several federal and local government agencies and 46 companies.
She affirmed the UAE's keenness to develop its economic relations, especially trade with Malaysia, noting that the delegation participating in the exhibition is discussing investment opportunities between the two countries to turn them into projects that contribute to the achievement of mutual interests.
Shaikha Lubna assured that the Ministry of Foreign Trade supports direct communication between UAE representatives of the private sector and their counterparts in Malaysia and the world.

She pointed out the competitive investment environment and various opportunities available in UAE markets to the private sector and international investors.
The UAE pavilion at the exhibition in Kuala Lumpur was a strong attraction to Malaysian and Asian companies and businessmen due to the advanced level and competitiveness of the UAE's industrial products and services developed and provided by high government agencies and free zones.
The pavilion also witnessed the organisation of discussions and joint talks between UAE and Malaysian events on the possibilities of cooperation between the parties and turning ideas into practical projects in the UAE.
The Ministry of Foreign Trade is participating in the exhibition in addition to the Department of Economic Development, the UAE Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Khalifa Fund to Support and Develop Small and Medium Enterprises, Ruwad Establishment and the Tamouh Programme.
