Beirut: Bilateral trade between Saudi Arabia and China grew 33 per cent to $43.18 billion (Dh158.57 billion) in 2010 compared with 2009 and is seen growing to $60 billion by 2015, pan-Arab Asharq Al Awsat daily reported yesterday citing a Chinese official.
The two countries aim to boost bilateral trade and this is achievable, the paper reports citing Yu Zhi Rong, the economic and commercial advisor, at the Chinese embassy in Saudi Arabia.
Saudi exports to China rose 39 per cent to $32.81 billion in 2010 compared with the previous year while its imports from China rose 16 per cent over the same period to $10.37 billion, according to Chinese customs data, Yu Zhi Rong said. Saudi Arabia is China's largest trading partner in west Asia and Africa, he added.
