Abu Dhabi: There are at least another five phases for the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (Adnec) being planned, with total completion targeted for 2012, a senior Adnec official said on Sunday.
Paul Vincent, Marketing Director of Adnec, told reporters here that the work on Adnec Phase-2 was completed on Sunday after 15 months of intense construction work, just in time to be used for the 13th edition of the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (Adipec-2008), which begins on Monday.
The costs
Adipec will run until November 6 at Adnec. Around 1,500 exhibitors, 200 conference speakers, 2,000 conference delegates and 40,000 visitors are expected at the event.
"The second phase of construction at Adnec has been completed at a cost of Dh777 million," said Vincent.
In all, Vincent said, it cost close to Dh1.8 billion to build Adnec's two phases.
