Dubai forum tackles corporate social responsibility

Dubai: The Emirates Bankers Forum on Wednesday hosted Dr Belaid Rettab, executive director of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry's Economic Research and Sustainable Business Development department.

Dr Belaid spoke on the importance of corporate social responsibility in the banking industry and its impact on the business, growth and image of financial institutions.

The Emirates Bankers Forum is a monthly gathering organised by Sulaiman Al Mazroui, president of the Emirates Bankers Forum, that hosts eminent bankers representing local, regional and international banks.

Dr Rettab focused on how banks can use business strategies and management to harness market potential for sustainable products and services while reducing costs and risks.

He explained the importance of CSR in the downturn, the concept of sustainability and why banks should adopt sustainable finance to cut risk and enhance performance.
