Zoom to start cheap UK-US flights shortly

London: Zoom Airlines, the UK unit of Canada's Zoom Airlines Inc, said it plans to start low-cost flights between London's Gatwick airport and New York beginning June 21.

The airline said one-way fares will start from £129 including taxes. It will offer economy and premium economy services.

Flights will leave London Gatwick every lunchtime, arriving in New York in the early afternoon, the company said. Return flights will leave New York in the early evening, landing at London Gatwick at around 6am the following morning.

Zoom said it will operate five direct flights per week and two off-peak services via Bermuda.
