Safety procedures

“This strategic decision was coordinated in 2007 as our Company decided to extend MRO business in the UAE — the decision to construct a new hangar complex in the territory of Sharjah Airport was made. Currently, when the hangar construction is complete, we will have established a wide network of approved maintenance bases (in 9 airports of the world) with two hangar complexes with an overall area of 30.000 square metres [in Sharjah and Leipzig]. The capital expenditures for the Sharjah Hangar Complex construction are 26.38 million US dollars,” Shklyanik, Senior Vice-president of Volga-Dnepr Group, said.
“Due to experience, it is proved that it is very beneficial for the Operators to have maintenance bases which are located in their route networks and operation areas. Providing a full range of maintenance services, the Operators reduce their expenditures for transfers, AC downtime and maintain the required level of flights safety. The establishment of the new hangar complex will attract new Customers not only to Sharjah Airport, but also to other airports in the UAE. This shall also strengthen the cooperation of Aviation associations of the Russian Federation and the UAE,” Sherin, Managing Director of Volga-Dnepr Gulf Company, said.
