Doha: In a move to step up frequency on its Doha to Dubai route, Qatar Airways said yesterday it would add three additional daily flights, making a total of 11 services a day.

The move, aimed at offering passengers more choice, will take effect from August 25 and help the carrier provide improved connection opportunities over the airline's Doha hub to destinations across its international network, the Doha-based carrier said in a statement.

More options

"Additional capacity is indicative that as we develop our international network with the introduction of new routes, we want to provide the travelling public greater travel options between Doha and our feeder markets such as Dubai," said Qatar Airways chief executive officer Akbar Al Baker.

Currently operating flights to over 100 destinations across Europe, Middle East, Africa, Asia Pacific, North America and South America with a fleet of 98 aircraft, the airline has added ten new routes over the last six months with plans to introduce more.

The carrier, has aircraft orders worth over $40 billion (Dh146.9 billion) for more than 200 aircraft.
