Muscat: Oman Air on Sunday said it reported a 50 per cent jump in the number of passengers to 445,923 during the first quarter of 2008, up from 297,391 passengers during the same period in 2007.
Abdul Razaq Bin Juma Al Raisi, senior sales manager, said that this achievement was accomplished in spite of the strong competition in the aviation industry worldwide, and sales have grown considerably, at 103 per cent, owing to its operational strategy and high quality services.
"In addition to the fleet efficacy and on-time performance, the increase in the number of Oman Air scheduled flights in the first quarter of the year, 1,860 flights as against 1,373 in the same period in 2007," he said.
Al Raisi said that nine destinations were added during the past year, which facilitated an increase in the number of passengers to Oman.
"We at Oman Air feel proud for becoming a major international airline."
Al Raisi said the management is striving to provide more distinct services, and increase destinations, with a view to providing more opportunities for passengers.
