Emirates to double New Delhi flights
Emirates airline on Wednesday said it plans to double its daily services to New Delhi and boost its Ahmedabad operation with two additional flights per week, bringing its total frequency on the India route to 108 weekly flights.

Dubai: Emirates airline on Wednesday said it plans to double its daily services to New Delhi and boost its Ahmedabad operation with two additional flights per week, bringing its total frequency on the India route to 108 weekly flights.
Effective March 30, the Dubai-based carrier will add one flight every Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday to its existing daily service to New Delhi.
In the next phase of expansion, starting July 2, three more flights - one every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday - will be added.
The additional flights, in three class configurations, will add over 1,800 seats and more than 120 tonnes of cargo capacity a week per direction.
Beginning March 30, Emirates will also add two weekly flights to Ahmedabad, its most recent gateway in India, taking its total frequency on the route to eight flights per week.
The airline will operate the additional services with an Airbus A330-200 aircraft in two-and-three-class configurations.
Salem Obaidalla, senior vice-president of commercial operations in West Asia and the Indian Ocean, said: "New Delhi took centre stage in 1985 when Emirates commenced global operations... Two decades later, New Delhi once again assumes significance as Emirates's Indian operations touch a new milestone."
