Dubai: Emirates has suspended its daily direct flights to Houston, Texas, and passengers are advised the next flight will only be on Thursday (September 18), an airline spokesperson said.
The airline stopped flights to the oil centre since September 12 because of the impact of Hurricane Ike which left a trail of destruction and badly affected operations at the George Bush International Airport.
Passengers can check with the call centre on 04-214 4444 to rebook. Every day about 350 passengers fly to Houston from Dubai.
"Due to the impact of Hurricane Ike on airport services and local operations in Houston, Emirates flights EK211/EK212 to and from Houston from September 12 to 17 have been suspended. Flights will resume on Thursday, September 18. We regret any inconvenience caused to our customers," said the Emirates statement.
Delta's flights from Dubai were unaffected as it only flies to Atlanta.
