Dubai: Dubai World Central (DWC) has handed over the first plots of land to private developers to begin construction.
The 140-square kilometre, multi-phase urban land development is centred around the world's largest airport, the DWC-Al Maktoum international airport.
DWC residential city has generated tremendous interest from developers with its successful sale of Phase 1 and 2 of its five-phased development - a combined 483 plots valued at Dh8 billion.
"Since its inception in 2006, under a decree from His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, DWC has implemented its world-class development with clockwork precision," said Abdullah Al Falasi, DWC director of marketing and corporate communications.
