Delta Air Lines strengthens presence in Middle East

Dubai: Delta Air Lines now offers improved connectivity for Middle East passengers travelling to the US with the opening of Delta's nonstop daily flights from Dubai to Atlanta. Beginning November 8, Delta will also launch a four times weekly nonstop flight from Kuwait City to Atlanta.

"In the past 12 months we have enjoyed load factors on the Dubai to Atlanta service in the mid to high 80 per cent range. We are very pleased with the success of this flight and are confident we can sustain its performance with a daily service," said Manoj Kuriakose, commercial manager Middle East, Delta Air Lines.

Dubai is one of over 50 new international destinations Delta has added to its network since 2005 as part of its accelerated global expansion. The flight began in 2007 as a five times weekly service and was quickly increased to six times weekly.

Destinations that have proven popular with passengers travelling from Dubai include Houston, Los Angeles, Dallas, Orlando and Tampa, and those destinations are also forecasted to be popular with the Kuwait City passengers.

Delta's recent improvements to its Middle East network come just four months after the airline launched a four times weekly nonstop flight between Amman and New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport.

Delta serves Dubai and Kuwait City with Boeing 777-200ER aircraft seating up to 268 passengers and featuring Delta's refurbished business and economy class service.
