Dubai: Gaith Al Gaith was appointed executive vice-president of commercial operations worldwide for Emirates Airline in August 1995.
An Emirati, Al Gaith began his career with Emirates as a management trainee in December 1986.
He was appointed deputy passenger sales manager UAE in June 1988 and deputy manager overseas development and marketing in August 1989.
He was promoted as area manager, UK and Ireland, in 1991, and as general manager, commercial operations, for Europe and North America in 1993. He became the senior general manager for commercial operations for Middle East, Africa and former Soviet republics in October 1994. He was appointed director of commercial operations in August 1995.
Al Gaith, who was born in 1963, holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Arizona, United States.
