Dubai: As part of its fleet expansion programmes, Al Habtoor Motor will deliver more than 300 Mitsubishi vehicles to Diamondlease, the fleet operator.

The deliveries will include Lancer, Galant and Pajero models, as well as Rosa buses. Plans are on the anvil for an additional 400 vehicles later this year to expand Diamondlease's fleet to 9,000 units. Al Habtoor Group currently operates a fleet of 8,000 vehicles.

Al Habtoor Motors has been successful with its fleet sales that have emerged as a dominant part of its overall business.

In 2011, with the local automotive market still reeling under the impact of the downturn, Al Habtoor Motors gained ground on the fleet side.

In fact, selling to corporate clients has assumed strategic importance for local dealerships — especially those dealing in volume brands.
