Dubai: Police on Monday arrested a young Arab man in Abu Dhabi who smashed into car windows and stole the valuable contents inside.
Abu Dhabi Police said a spate of robberies were recently reported at one of the popular districts of the capital.
“After receiving persistent reports about motorists who had their car windows broken and the contents of the vehicle stolen, a team was set up to monitor the area,” said Colonel Ahmad Saif Bin Zaitoun Al Muhairi, director of Capital Police Directorate.
“Police then caught the suspect red-handed as he attempted to carry out another robbery in the same neighbourhood where the other crimes took place,” he said.

Preventing a crime for occurring is close to impossible, but there are a few ways to lower your chances in having your valuable contents stolen from your car.
- Hide your belongings
- Park the vehicle near security cameras
- Add security equipment. Install a car alarm, if it doesn’t already have one
- Never leave your car running unattended
