Dubai: A British man has been questioned by police here after flashing his middle finger up at another driver during a road rage incident, Dubai Police confirmed on Friday.

Dubai Police said in a statement that the British man, identified as J.A, made the rude gesture on Al Khail Road in Dubai in a rented car in February.

“He was driving his car and made the gesture to the Asian driver identified as A.G, who was with his wife and children. The Asian man made official complaint in police station but the British man left the country after the incident," Dubai Police said in statement.

"The British man was arrested later on September 10 when he returned to Dubai,” the statement added.

After the man was arrested at the Dubai International Airport, the Asian man was summoned to settle the matter with the Briton — but all the attempts failed and the Asian man insisted on pursuing his complaint.

“He considers the gesture as insult in front of his wife and children and the complaint was referred to Dubai Public Prosecution to complete the investigation,” Dubai Police said in the statement.

Dubai police stressed that all the residents, visitors and Emiratis are equal in the eyes of the law.
