Two UAE concerts featuring super act Boyzlife, made up of Westlife’s Brian McFadden and Boyzone’s Keith Duffy, have been postponed, Gulf News tabloid! can confirm. The concerts, part of the duo’s world tour, where they play at Hilton hotels around the globe, were scheduled for November 10 in Dubai and November 11 in Abu Dhabi.
“The show hasn’t been cancelled, it has been postponed to a suitable date in 2017,” a representative for the London-based company bringing Boyzlife to the UAE told Gulf News tabloid!. “It was a difficult decision to make as the guys were very much looking forward to visiting the UAE and performing. However, we have recently gone on sale with the April 2017 tour, as well as the Boyzlife documentary. We have seen an incredible response, and the reviews for this tour have been great as well. In turn, it has meant that we have received numerous promotional and marketing opportunities for both the April tour and documentary, and a decision was taken to stay in market and fulfil all opportunities prior to Christmas.
“We apologise for any inconvenience caused, however dates will be rescheduled as soon as possible.”
McFadden and Duffy joined forces in March, though the news didn’t go down so well with some of their former bandmates. Westlife’s Kian Egan called the move “aggravating”. Westlife performed in Dubai in 2011, while Boyzone appeared in the city in 2014.
Ticket holders were being referred to vendor ticketmaster.ae for refund details. A customer agent at Ticketmaster on Saturday confirmed the postponement, and said those who have bought tickets would get an automatic refund within 10 days. The call centre is 800-86823.
