Dubai: The Airport Show opens on Sunday at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.

It is the 15th edition of the show and includes the third edition of the Global Airport Leaders’ Forum (GALF) and second edition of the Travel Catering Expo (TCE), both co-located events.

The three-day business-to-business trade event is the biggest ever, according to organisers, and is expected to attract 8,000 industry professionals.

This year’s show, covering 12,000 square metres of exhibition space, is spread across three halls at the exhibition centre. There will be 102 exhibitors six country pavilions at the show, including a joint US and Canada ‘North American’ pavilion, according to organisers. There are a total of 300 exhibitors from 40 countries.

The number of organisations, including “civil aviation authorities, airlines and other aviation-related bodies participating in the programme this year has increased to 53, a 55 per cent jump from last year,” organisers said.

The UAE Minister of Economy and Chairman of the federal General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA), Sultan Bin Saeed Al Mansouri, is scheduled to speak on Monday at the GALF, according to the organisers’ website.
