Put simply, the three-day run of “V -- The Ultimate Variety Show” at Dubai World Trade Centre was family entertainment at its best. The event was hosted by juggler Wally Eastwood -- not only one of the best jugglers, but also an excellent compere -- making the show interactive, with the audience rolling with laughter at his jokes. His spontaneity stole their hearts. The show, featuring jugglers, magicians, acrobats and puppeteers, all of them excellent in their discipline, started on time -- if you are there with a couple of impatient kids, that’s something to be thankful for -- and from minute one, was fun, excitement and breathtaking acts that kept all want more and looking for the next performance. From a reinvention of the classic woman-cut-in-half magic trick to a very funny group performing Village People and Michael Jackson classics with a twist, passing through various acrobats doing amazing routines, all was great.
But a special mention must be made of the Argentinian drummers – their electrifying performance left people screaming for more and made a perfect finale to the night. The only depressing thing about the show was that it ended – leaving my kids gutted.
