“Whitney! Celebrating the Musical Legacy of Whitney Houston” is being assembled in cooperation with Houston’s family and will include interviews with friends, colleagues and family members. “This exhibit is a token of appreciation from our family for Whitney’s fans to enjoy and embrace,” Houston’s manager Pat Houston said in a statement.
“We hope they are as elated as we are to have shared in such a remarkable life.” \
Museum executive director Robert Santelli, in the same statement, said, “We are particularly excited to showcase her long connection to the Grammy Awards show and to celebrate the musical genius that made her one of America’s most-awarded pop and soul vocalists.” The exhibition is scheduled to run through February. Houston died Feb. 11 in Beverly Hills on the eve of last year’s Grammy Awards ceremony. The cause of death was drowning, heart disease and cocaine use, according to the Los Angeles County Coroner’s report. She was 48.
