The Scorpions to rock Dubai

The Scorpions yesterday said that they will “rock Dubai like a ‘hurricane’. The rock band is in town for the second time to perform a concert at the Dubai Festival City tonight.

The Scorpions yesterday said that they will “rock Dubai like a ‘hurricane'. The rock band is in town for the second time to perform a concert at the Dubai Festival City tonight.

At press conference held on Wednesday the band said that they've done some extensive touring this year.

“We've just arrived from Siberia and can't wait to play in Dubai,'' said Klaus Meine lead vocalist and songwriter of the band, who incidentally will also be celebrating his 60th birthday in town.

Talking about Dubai, Klaus said he was very impressed by the fabulous shopping malls in town. Another spot that he liked is the Hard Rock Café on Shaikh Zayed Road

Scorpions are a German hard rock who have sold over 75 million record. They are best known for their '80s rock anthem “Rock You Like a Hurricane''. The band have also produced hit singles such as “No One Like You'' and “Still Loving You''.

The band was formed by rhythm guitarist Rudolf Schenker in 1965. Schenker's younger brother Michael and vocalist Klaus Meine joined the him later and they came came out with their debut album Lonesome Crow in 1972.

The band's current line-up includes Matthias Jabs on guitar, Rudolf Schenker on lead guitar, Paweł Mąciwoda on bass guitar and James Kottak on drums, percussion and backing vocals.
