Billed as the biggest music event the UAE has ever seen, Dubai Sound City is all set to go off with a bang.

With more than 75 live acts across seven venues, this is one three-day festival which shouldn't be missed. Go for faded, mis-shaped T-shirts, classic trainers and don't forget your sunnies as you hop on your Vespa and go old school for the weekend.

As if the boys from Ocean Colour Scene, Super Furry Animals and Echo & the Bunnymen weren't enough, prepare to be bombarded with act after act of local talent, while the list of stars goes on with Happy Mondays, The Human League, Alpha Beat and Nitin Sawhney.

Devoted to celebrating the country's burgeoning music scene, Dubai Sound City, modelled on a similar event in Liverpool, boasts world-conquering indie bands, '80s legends and Madchester pioneers.

Trying to fit them all in could be the real challenge, so tabloid! introduces the big hitters.
